Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of CuraJournals ("we") governing your use of CuraJournals. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.

What CuraJournals is — and is not

CuraJournals is a literature-awareness tool: it finds recent medical papers indexed in PubMed and Europe PMC that match your settings and produces AI-generated summaries and briefings, each linked to its source. It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool, and not a source of medical advice. The Medical Disclaimer is part of these terms.

No patient information

You must not enter patient-identifying information or any protected health information (PHI) anywhere in CuraJournals — including the Ask feature, search, and notes. The service is not designed to store PHI, is not offered under a Business Associate Agreement, and questions you submit are processed by our AI providers. Keep questions general ("management of status epilepticus in pregnancy"), never patient-specific with identifying details.

AI-generated content

Summaries, briefings, audio, and answers are generated by AI and may contain errors or omissions despite our verification steps. You are responsible for verifying any information against the primary source before relying on it. We provide source links for exactly this purpose.

Acceptable use

• One account per person; keep your credentials secure.
• No scraping, bulk-downloading, reselling, or redistributing the service's output.
• No attempts to bypass usage limits, probe security, or disrupt the service.
• No use that violates the law or the rights of publishers (article content remains subject to its publishers' rights).

Fair-use limits

AI features are subject to daily usage allowances (shown in Settings). We may adjust allowances to keep the service sustainable, and may throttle or suspend accounts that abuse them.

Subscriptions

CuraJournals may offer paid plans with higher allowances. Prices and inclusions are shown at purchase; subscriptions renew until canceled and can be managed or canceled from Settings. Where required by the platform (e.g. Apple App Store), that platform's billing terms also apply.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings, which removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of CuraJournals will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any clinical or professional decision made in reliance on the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
